Letter from Coach Ethan
Hey Wipeouts!
First, let me say thank you all for the year so far! It has been a privilege coaching your children and watching them improve. I have been doing this for 6 years and this best behaved swim team I have ever coached!
Second, we are in the last two weeks of the year, crazy right!? This means a couple things. First, it means be here as often as you can. Results improve with repetition in practice. We understand life happens but please be at practice as often as you can. Next, this coming swim meet is our last dual meet. A tradition we started 5 years ago is we allow the kids to pick their individual events for the meet. If you will not be here Saturday, please put it in the notebook no later than Wednesday ore email me. We need to know who will not be here because of relay entries. If you are a no show and we were not made aware, sometimes we have to scratch relays and it’s disappointing for us and the swimmers for that relay to do that! If you have not swam in a meet so far, this Saturday is your last chance! We will be putting in many more 6 and unders this week and we would like to be made aware if your swimmer will compete! Remember this is a competitive swim team. We love to have fun but winning is fun. It’s not very fun when we scratch relays! So please get your money’s worth and show up these last two weeks.
Last, next week is Divisionals!!! We have an opportunity to win this meet for the first time in almost 20 years! Please, we need every one to show up with their best performance. Try to stay away from junk foods and sugar drinks these next 2 weeks (for the swimmers, parents eat what you want!) You need to start writing it down in the notebook on Wednesday if your child or family will not be swimming. Please, we need everyone’s support. We have done so well this year and we need to go out with a bang and not a whimper! Practices starts bright and early.
Can’t wait to see ya’ll tomorrow morning! Don’t forget to show up tomorrow afternoon with your big bright smiles for team and individual photos in the afternoon in addition to the morning practice.
Coach Ethan
